What is this?

If you don't know what a MUSH is, you will probably want to take a look at this collection of FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) on MUDs and other types of MU*'s, of which MUSHes are a type.

Briefly, a MUSH is a virtual world where you can interact with people, role-playing characters that you create. Your character may just be yourself, or someone radically different in personality, manner, or even gender. If you remember those old text based adventure games, it is sort of like that, only you have interaction with real people, and you're aren't limited by simple commands. Since you are dealing with real people, you are free to try and do anything that makes sense. If you have any experience with the AD&D or White Wolf role-playing games, MUSHing could also be thought of as being something similar, a text version of it, but with more emphasis on role-playing than fighting. Like IRC (Internet Relay Chat), MUSHes can also be used as a place just to talk to people, but MUSHes also have the added advantage of also being an imaginary world in itself where your imagination can run wild. If you don't think your imagination is up to doing a whole world - don't worry, the people there will help you along, and you have the rich descriptions of the rooms you are in, the objects you can see, and the people around you to help you. MUSHing can be a lot of fun (and addicting :-] ) and it's also a good place to make friends, both for your character, and for yourself.

    Chala

    Wizard: Handor
We all know of the familiar struggle between Good and Evil. Sometimes the difference is as clear as night and day. But in the dawning of a new era, everything is hazy. Here are two cultures separated by time, war, and geography. Only now are they once again becoming aware of each other's presence. On one side, a debilitated empire struggles to survive through technological development. On the other, a land rich with magic and fantastic creatures is plagued with quarrels and strife. Will the two societies work together to bring about the new age in peace? Or will there be war? Which side do you choose to be on?

    Middle-earth

    Wizard: Gala
Tangled Web's Middle-earth theme is based on J.R.R. Tolkien's legendary book, "The Hobbit". The story picks up where The Hobbit left off - Bilbo has recently returned to The Shire with The Ring. Goblins are nursing their wounds deep within the Misty Mountains. Mirkwood is filled with nasty creatures of all sorts. Dwarves are rebuilding their reclaimed homeland under The Lonely Mountain. Whether you want to take on the character of an elf, a hobbit, a goblin, or another creature, there is a place for you on Tangled Web! This is designed to be a relaxed Tolkien-themed world, perfect for either the Tolkien-Nut or the more novice Tolkien fan.

    Camelot

    Wizard: Uvatha
The theme of Camelot is based on the legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. It is based primarily on the Welsh tales, Thomas Malory, Geoffrey of Monmouth, and Edmund Spenser, but all variations that fit within the theme guidelines are accepted. Since there are very few aspects of the Camelot stories which are universal, a great deal of artistic license is given to the players to form their own stories. You may choose to be Human, Faerie, or Half-Faerie in this, one of the most timeless and beautiful moments in mythological history.
You are welcome to email Gala at brigala@yahoo.com if you have any questions and don't feel ready to connect to the game yet. Just make sure that you give her a way to get a hold of you!
